Juan Ángel García, new vice-president of MONDRAGON
The Congress’s Standing Committee has agreed to appoint Juan Ángel García to the office of vice-president of the Equipment Division.

Today, 1st March, Juan Ángel García begins his term of office as vice-president of the Equipment Division, taking over in this position from Miguel Ocaña, who after a long and successful trajectory in different areas and positions within the Corporation is now set to enjoy his retirement. In recent years, Juan Ángel has been the managing director of the Dikar/Wingroup cooperative, dedicated to the manufacture of sports guns, gym equipment and outdoor products, and he will combine this position with the vice-presidency of the Division.
The Equipment Division, which is part of MONDRAGON’s Industry area, is currently made up of the following cooperatives: Alkargo, Dikar/Wingroup, Ederfil Becker, Eredu, Hertell, mccgraphics, Oiarso, Orbea, Osatu, and Urola.
Juan Ángel García was born in the Basque town of Zumarraga (Gipuzkoa) in 1970. He holds a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from Deusto University in Bilbao, and he studied for his Executive MBA at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. His professional career, with a markedly international leaning, has been closely linked to the Dikar/Wingroup cooperative, a project he joined in 1999 as
controller of subsidiaries (Brazil, China, and the USA). In 2001 he was appointed head of the production subsidiary in Shanghai, where he was responsible for the development and coordination of the then fledgling Fitness plant in China. In due course, now in 2005, he was promoted to business manager, and then to the cooperative’s overall management in 2011.
