MONDRAGON joins the United Nations in defending the role of cooperatives in the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs

The contribution of cooperatives to sustainable development was highlighted at a United Nations event held on July 7 in New York.

During the event, held online at the United Nations in New York, the International Day of Cooperatives and the tenth anniversary of the UN International Year of Cooperatives were commemorated. Furthermore, the event was an excellent opportunity for UN Member States to share practical experiences and plans to help cooperatives advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

Iñigo Albizuri, director of Institutional Relations of MONDRAGON, highlighted in his speech the role of cooperatives, "they have a proven track record of addressing inequality and empowering workers, contributing to SDG 8"
