MONDRAGON Corporation a finalist for the Boldness in Business Awards organised by the Financial Times and Arcelor Mittal

The Corporation has recently been selected by the jury panel of the Boldness in Business Awards as one of the six candidate companies from all over the world in the “Drivers of change” category. A total of 260 companies from all over the world were put forward to compete for these awards, which are jointly organised by the Financial Times (FT) and Arcelor Mittal (AM).
A shortlist of just six finalists has been drawn up to compete for the award in this category, and the winner will be announced at a special event to be held in London on 20 March. The companies nominated are the US oil company Continental Resources, the Chinese industrial machinery corporation Sany Heavy Industry, the multi-sector Tata Group from India, the Japanese entertainment holding Square, the German publishing company Axel Springer, and MONDRAGON.

The three previous winners in this category were Fiat in 2009, Apple in 2010, and Amazon in 2011 and firms as important as Al Jazeera, Amazon, Google or Master Card were among the finalists.

The awards ceremony

The awards ceremony will take place on 20 March at the exclusive RIBA building (Royal Institute of British Architects) in London, and the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson will be taking part together with the Chief Executives of the FT and AM, Lionel Barber and Lakshmi Mittal, respectively.

What are the Boldness in Business Awards? This will be the fifth year that these annual awards have been held. Their aim is to highlight and celebrate internationally companies that are drivers of change and inspire innovation in their sectors. They are organised by the Financial Times and Arcelor Mittal and there are a number of different categories: Corporate Responsibility, Entrepreneurship, Emerging Markets, Smaller Company and Person of the Year. Just appearing on the shortlist of finalists is in itself an honour for MONDRAGON, and will without doubt give a new boost to our group’s impact worldwide.
