Fagor Ederlan, cooperative within the MONDRAGON Corporation, has recently signed an agreement to rent 4,800 square metres of the old Fagor Electrodomésticos refrigerator plant in San Andrés, in Arrasate-Mondragón. Fagor Ederlan intends to use these premises to develop its industrial mould construction activity for its low pressure die-casting and aluminium injection plants.

Following an initial outfitting of the industrial premises, the cooperative will transfer the production resources for constructing moulds, maintenance and machining tools for its 4 plants in Guipúzcoa, located in Aretxabaleta, Eskoriatza, Arrasate and Bergara. In doing so, the cooperative will double its mould construction capacity and free up space at the current plants to increase production capacity for future projects.

With a forecast of 50 jobs in 2019, the cooperative has already begun to work on the implementation project and industrial activity is expected to start in the spring of 2017.

Mould design, led by the Edertek technology centre, and the construction of these, is a key element in offering high added value for these type of components.

International expansion

The cooperative, currently enjoying international sales growth, continues focusing on the development of high added value activities at its headquarters.
